Welcome
KEK, Tsukuba, Japan
October 16-21, 2011
Dear Colleagues,
KEK and JAEA are pleased to host the 50th ICFA Advanced Beam Dynamics Workshop on Energy Recovery Linacs, ERL2011, which is held in Tsukuba, Japan from 16 to 21 October 2011.
Tsukuba is Japan's largest science city with more than 300 research institutes, and is one of the world's key sites for basic research in science and technology. Energy Recovery Linacs (ERLs) are emerging as a powerful new paradigm of electron accelerators as they hold the promise of delivering high average current beams while maintaining beam quality of linacs. Envisioned ERL applications include accelerators for the production of synchrotron radiation, free electron lasers, high-energy electron cooling devices and electron-ion colliders.
Sincerery yours,

Additional Message on April 13, 2011
Dear Colleagues,
I appreciate your cooperation and/or interest in the ERL2011 which will be held in KEK, Japan on the middle of October as described in the web site of http://erl2011.kek.jp/.
I understand that you might worry about the situation of KEK by the earthquake and nuclear crisis at Fukushima and also whether the ERL2011 will be held in KEK as scheduled.
Actually, there are several damages at our accelerator components and experimental apparatuses, however there are no casualties of staffs and users in KEK. Now, we start to recover all of the damaged components apparatuses and step by step. Tsukuba city is located almost 160km far from Fukushima
Daiichi Facility. Therefore, the present radiation level is about 0.15 micro Sv in KEK as shown in the following web site.

Therefore, I would like to announce again that the ERL2011 will be held in KEK from 16th to 21st of October as scheduled.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at the ERL2011 at October.
Sincerely yours,
Hiroshi Kawata (Chair of the ERL2011)
